Supersonic Bizjet

Aerion Corporation

Imagine flying from Paris to New York at Mach 1.6 and making the trip in four hours for a breakfast meeting. You hop back on and fly from New York to China in nine hours just in time for your second morning meeting of the day and turnaround to be back home in LA Uptown with enough time to crawl into bed, wake up fresh, and take your kids to school.

This dream for the frequent business traveler may soon be a reality with Aerion’s Supersonic Business Jet. With the recent unveiling at the recent Dubai Air Show, this infancy-stage project and vision has already wrapped up 1.5 billion in pre-sold aircraft. Considering the hefty price tag of $80 million per plane, this is great news for the Reno, Nevada based company.

With ex-execs from Boeing, Lear and Bombardier as well as brains from Stanford, Caltech and Yale spearheading this project, this Supersonic Jet is capable of Mach 1.6 at top speed and cruising speeds of mach 1.15 over land without producing a boom. Mach 1.0 is the regulatory speed cap over the continental U.S., yet the jet can cruise efficiently just below the speed of sound.

The jet will fit 8 to 12 with stand up room and can fly up to 4,000 nautical miles in one shot at the maximum ceiling of 51,000 feet. This private rocket will get you wherever you need go and back with more time to spend with those that you love. The company is still taking orders for expected delivery passed 2012.
