Henrik Fisker

Henrik Fisker

The Designer - Henrik Fisker's most recent design, the Karma, was recently unveiled. He was formerly the Design Director of the BMW DesigncenterUSA in Newbury Park, Califronia

The designer that started Fisker Coachbuild (the company that specializes in transforming Mercedes-Benz vehicles into the ultra aftermarket machines) now spends the bulk of his time bringing the Fisker Karma (pictured above) to market. With its official launch at the LA auto show in Novemeber, the Karma finally had the opportunity to wow the U.S. market as it has in so many other international locations. With debuts in Germany, England and Monaco (to name a few), the concept and now the reality of this uber-chic, semi-affordable, and super economic dream car is taking off.
Henrik knew from a young age that he wanted to be a designer and in 1989 at the age of 25, he got his first auto job with BMW in Munich, Germany. That position set the foundation for Henrik’s eventual development of the illustrious BMW Z8 and eventually the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Always favoring the high-end and more conceptual elements of auto design, Henrik realized that there are always new and more practical ways to build a car. In 1998, at the age of 34, Henrik came to Southern California and became the Head of Automotive Design at the BMW Design Center in Newbury Park. Since then his career rocketed even further into the domestic auto space and he has taken his vision to the ultimate entrepreneurial level. Assembling a team of international automotive experts, Henrik has prioritized product development unlike any other car company in the world. When thinking about the Karma’s dynamic of affordability, classy design, and economic practicality, it becomes evident that Henrik and his team at Fisker Auto are clearly putting the customer first. Although having a wealth of experience and one of the keenest eyes for aesthetics in his trade, Henrik has always made it a point to source the opinions of just about everyone. “How can we build a car without knowing what our customer really wants?” he asks matter-of-fact. Through multiple case studies, focus groups, surveys and conversations, Henrik delivered what we want.
With the mantra “you only live once” and with a dream of continually building cars to be more environmentally sustainable, the 44-year-old Henrik Fisker is positioned to lead the next generation by helping car buyers become mindful consumers that demand the best.

If you have an interest in participating in the growth and continued success of the Fisker Karma, please contact the company’s CFO Eric Weidner at 714-888-4255 ext. 119.

The Fisker Karma

First fifty miles are all electric....

For those driving enthusiasts who wouldn’t dream of giving up speed and handling for a few insignificant miles per gallon, it’s time to shuck some bucks for one of the sexiest green cars ever to hit the blacktop – the Fisker Karma. This plug-in hybrid has the body of a goddess and has the raw 5.8 second zero-to-sixty power to knock your socks off. The Karma’s top speed is 125 miles per hour, so for those of you needing a faster hybrid, good luck.

Manufactured by Fisker Automotive, a partnership between Quantum Technologies and Fisker Coachbuild, the Karma will offer all the luxury features of your top-of-the-line Mercedes, but will also boast the greenest feature of all – the silent roar of the Karma’s first 50 miles on electric only. This gas saving attribute will give its overall mpg rating a huge boost, and if all you drive is 50 miles a day you’ll only have to top off the tank once a year. The Chevy Volt, GM’s go-for-broke entry into the electric hybrid arena, is also working on the first 40-50 electric only mpg, too, but the Volt can’t touch the Karma’s overall design. Another green Karma offering is its optional solar-paneled roof which will enable the car’s lithium ion batteries to recharge while cruising down PCH or stuck in bumper-to-bumper on the 101. Talk about the perfect green gift for the holidays!
